How approvals work
Approvals let your organization require a second person for sensitive changes, such as price edits, before they reach your Google Sheet.

Approvals are optional. Your organization chooses which changes need them. For example, price edits can require approval while everyday stock movements do not.
What happens to a request
- Someone proposes a change that a rule covers.
- The proposed values are written to a protected tab in your spreadsheet and wait there.
- An Owner, Admin or Approver approves or rejects it. Nobody can approve their own request.
- An approved change is applied to the Sheet. A rejection is recorded with the reviewer's comment.
Every step is recorded in the audit trail.
When things change while a request waits
- If the item changes before review, the request is marked out of date and the reviewer sees what changed.
- If the requester leaves the team, the request stays visible and can still be approved or rejected.
- If the assigned Approver is removed, the request goes back to the other Approvers. If none are left, the Owner is notified.
