The Owner can offer ownership to an Admin of at least 72 hours. The new Owner accepts after 24 hours, and the old Owner becomes an Admin.

Ownership moves in two steps: the Owner makes an offer, and the person accepts it. Until they accept, nothing changes.
Who can receive ownership
You can offer ownership only to someone who has been an Admin of the organization for at least 72 hours. To transfer to someone else, make them an Admin first. Only one offer can be pending at a time.
Offer ownership
- Open the organization's Members page.
- Next to the Admin, select the button to make them the Owner.
- Select Offer ownership and confirm it's you with a passkey you have had for at least 24 hours.
The Admin is emailed. You can cancel the offer at any time before they can accept it: select Cancel offer on the Members page.
Accept ownership
The new Owner can accept only 24 hours after the offer was made. This gives the current Owner time to notice and cancel an offer they did not intend.
- Open the organization's Members page.
- In the pending transfer, select Accept ownership and confirm it's you with a passkey you have had for at least 24 hours.
You become the Owner, and the previous Owner becomes an Admin. Every Owner and Admin is emailed. To turn the offer down, select Decline.
When an offer ends without a transfer
An offer that is not accepted expires 72 hours after it was made, so the new Owner has 48 hours to accept after the 24-hour wait. Both people are emailed when it expires.
A pending offer is also cancelled if either person's membership changes, for example if they are removed, leave or get a different role.
