# Limit a member to some locations

> Location scope limits an Editor or Viewer to the locations they work in, so a store team sees and changes only its own stock.

An Editor or Viewer can be limited to one or more locations. They then see and change only the stock in those locations. Owners, Admins and Approvers always work across every location.

## How it works

- Without a scope, an Editor or Viewer works in every location.
- With a scope, items and history outside their locations are hidden, and movements there are refused.
- When a scope is narrowed, the change applies on their next action: buttons for locations they lost disappear and the server rejects writes there at once.
