# Delete your account

> Delete your LightInventory account from your account settings. It is deleted for good after 30 days, and you can sign in and cancel until then.

You can delete your own LightInventory account. It is deleted for good after 30 days, and until then you can sign in and cancel.

## Before you start

If you are the Owner of an organization that has other members, you can't delete your account yet. [Transfer ownership](/help/organizations/transfer-ownership) to an Admin first, or remove the other members. An organization where you are the only member is deleted together with your account.

## Delete

1. In the **Account** menu, select **Delete account**.
2. Select **Delete account** and confirm in the dialog.
3. Confirm it's you with a passkey. If an organization is deleted with your account, this needs a passkey you have had for at least 24 hours.

You are signed out everywhere, including on this device. Your memberships in other organizations are suspended now and end when the account is deleted.

## Cancel the deletion

Sign in again within 30 days and select **Cancel deletion**. Your account and your memberships work as before. Until you cancel, you can't open your organizations or change anything.

If an organization has no free seat for you when you cancel, that membership stays suspended until its Owner frees one.

## If you can't confirm with a passkey

Deleting an account needs a passkey that counts for Owner and Admin changes. If you don't have one, email support@lightinventory.com from the address you sign in with.
