# Create an organization

> Create a LightInventory organization for your company or team. You become its Owner and can invite your team afterwards.

An organization holds one team's inventory, members and settings. You can create one as soon as your sign-in methods are set up, and you become its Owner.

## Create one

1. Open the organization menu in the header and select **Create an organization**.
2. Enter a name, usually your company or team name. It can be up to 120 characters.
3. Choose the **Currency** for prices and stock values.
4. Select **Create organization**.

The new organization opens on its **Members** page, where you can [invite people](/help/organizations/invite-people).

## Good to know

- You can belong to several organizations, each with its own role. See [Switch between organizations](/help/organizations/switch-organizations).
- As the Owner, you confirm changes such as invitations with a passkey. See [Why am I asked for a passkey?](/help/organizations/why-a-passkey).
- To protect the service, the number of organizations you can create in one day is limited.
