# Accept an invitation

> Join a LightInventory organization from your invitation email. Sign up or sign in with the invited address, finish your sign-in setup, then accept.

An invitation link works once, for 72 hours, and only for the email address it was sent to. You need a LightInventory account with that address and your sign-in methods set up.

## Accept

1. Open the link in your invitation email.
2. If you are not signed in, select **Create an account** or **Sign in**, using the email address the invitation was sent to. Stay in the same tab: you come back to the invitation when you're done.
3. If you have not finished setting up your sign-in methods, select **Continue** and add them. See [Sign in to LightInventory](/help/account-and-sign-in/sign-in).
4. Check the organization, the role and who invited you, then select **Accept invitation**.

The organization's Owners and Admins can see your name and email address.

## If the invitation can't be used

The link may have expired, been used or been revoked, or you may be signed in with a different email address. Sign out and sign in with the invited address, or ask the person who invited you to send a new invitation.
